The intent of this appointment is to maintain the momentum and continue the growth of the organization while keeping the Dorcas Mission intact. As interim Executive Director, David will work onsite and attend onsite and offsite meetings, as appropriate, spending 15 to 20 hours per week in such endeavors. David’s presence allows our existing staff to remain focused on their respective areas.
David has been a resident of Cary since 1992. His wife Susan is a retired speech pathologist and they have two adult children Margaret and Andrew. He is a past chairman of the Presbyterian Board of Governors, parent company of the Glenaire organization. He was a Dorcas Board member for six years, two of which he served as Board President. David continues to serve as a volunteer in the electronic department at Dorcas for the past 6 years and is currently heading up Dorcas’ Affordable Housing Taskforce team.
He had a 40-year career in hospital and health administration serving on executive staff of Rex Hospital and WakeMed in management operations. His last position was Senior VP and Administrator of the WakeMed Cary Hospital where he served six years before retiring. Hobbies include woodworking, sailing, walking his family’s English setter “Barney” and visiting friends and kids.
